Carl Wood Profile
Carl E. Wood, owner of Doubletree Horse Farms, has spent most of his life in Colorado raising and breeding horses.
After receiving his BA from Western State in Gunnison, Colorado, he moved to Illinois to teach high school. He then spent the next twelve years locating, developing, and selling a business in New Mexico.
In 1979, Carl started searching for an ideal location where he could breed, raise and train horses full time. He purchased land in Delta, Colorado and developed what is now known as Doubletree Horse Farms.

Doubletree Horse Farms was established in 1982.

| 2006 | I took the year off from showing in 2006 to concentrate on developing the Versatility Ranch Horse Shows here and also the Mountain Program. With gas prices way up there it was a good decision. I was also able to train more horses, do more clinics, and give more lessons. There is especially one two year filly named Susie that you must watch for in 2007. Susie is owned by Heather Wells of Boulder Wyoming. I must say thank you for bringing me such a talented horse. |
